Douglas County taxpayers stand behind Gregory Baker as their Tax Commissioner because of his proven leadership, commitment to fairness, and dedication to serving the community. Since taking office in 2017, he has demonstrated a strong record of financial responsibility and public service.
Mr. Baker’s professional career path includes: Hope Atlanta where he functioned as a Housing Specialist assisting Homeless Veterans, Cobb/Douglas Community Services, Mercer University, and New Bridges, Inc. Mr. Baker is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and The Georgia Society for Clinical Social Work (GSCSW). In 2016, Mr. Baker was elected as the Tax Commissioner for Douglas County, GA. Where he serves as the first African- American to be elected in this position for the county.
Greg Baker’s favorite pastimes are bowling, tennis and watching a good movie. He is a proud husband, father of two daughters, and the grandfather to six grandchildren.
